Technology in Construction

BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology has been sweeping the construction industry and could potentially be a requirement in the future. It is beneficial at various stages of the construction process; as it helps engineers form and builders execute an accurate representation of a finished product.

In addition to BIM technology, lesser known technologies exist and are predicted to transform the construction industry in coming years. AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) hit the market last year and have crept into many industries, including construction. AR can be used directly on site, while VR is more geared towards engineers and architects.

Is the future of construction in the hands of technology? Will technology innovate and improve the industry? Or is the technology potentially taking away jobs and a certain human aspect?
